“We are glad you are part of our clinic, now accepting new patients! Our goal is to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care to everyone who walks through our doors. Patient education is a vital aspect of best care so we hope this monthly newsletter keeps you and our community informed and up-to-date on the latest hearing loss treatment. We hope that you will share this information and your experience with anyone who could benefit from our services. We are here to help! We listen, you hear.”

Hearing Loss Statistics:
- 48 million Americans experience hearing loss (1 in 5 adults)
- Hearing loss is the 2nd most prevalent health issue globally
- Tinnitus (ringing or other sounds in the ears) affects 10%-20% of Americans (roughly 90% of tinnitus cases occur with an underlying hearing loss)
- Hearing loss affects 33% of Americans between ages 65-74 and nearly 50% of those 75+
Baseline hearing testing is recommended for anyone with the following:
- Age 50+
- Difficulty hearing in noisy settings
- Difficulty understanding conversations
- Tinnitus
- Loud noise exposure (past or present)
- Dementia/cognitive decline/Alzheimer’s disease
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- History of cancer treatment
- Dizziness or vertigo
- Thyroid conditions
- Kidney disease
Every patient is a unique case with a unique history. Dr. Coates will put your puzzle pieces together to determine the cause of the hearing loss and the best treatment route.

“We get to be involved with the community by sponsoring and promoting local events and meeting other physicians/providers. We also get to be part of free seminars for various local organizations, such as senior centers, church groups, etc.”
